Primolicious develops online communities for folks with a shared passion. Our emphasis is on discovering the best the web has to offer, presenting it in a manner that is both accessible and compelling. We accomplish this by scouring the web for news, blogs and articles as well as soliciting contributions from our Partners in the form of links and original content. We also facilitate the exchange of information and ideas between members of the community.

My name is Gary Logsdon (RollinLog) and I became paralyzed about 15 years ago when my back was broken in a serious automobile accident. During my recovery, and in subsequent years, my family and I found the most useful advice and encouragement came from members of the Disability Community. This motivated us to provide an opportunity for many others to enjoy the benefits of interacting with this knowledgeable and caring community by utilizing the power of the Internet. We developed Primolicious/Disability as an online gathering place where the Disability Community can find a storehouse of useful information, and more importantly, connect with other folks like themselves to share stories, frustrations, expertise, triumphs and challenges.

After launching the site for the Disability Community we realized that we could apply the Primolicious model to develop additional communities for folks that are passionate about other areas such as business, hobbies, leisure and recreational pursuits. So in the months ahead you will see a variety of new communities being launched by Primolicious. The essence of these Primolicious communities is captured in our slogan:

Information

For all Primolicious communities the Internet is awash with great content. Unfortunately, this content is scattered over hundreds of sites and mixed in with other content of little value. At Primolicious, we discover this content and "Primolize" it into information that is easily accessible, relevant, useful and compelling. The following four activities are used to Primolize the content:

• Centralize - Using numerous methods, including an intelligent aggregator, links to valuable content on hundreds of websites can be accessed from this single site.
• Categorize - Separating all of the content into well-organized categories makes it possible for visitors to efficiently obtain the information they desire.
• Customize - Partners can specify the categories of information they would like to track and how it's displayed.
• Prioritize - All content is ranked using a sophisticated process so that the Primo (best) information is made available to the community. Visitors can participate by voting for content or requesting that unacceptable content be removed.

Inspiration

Clearly, what inspires individuals differs widely from person to person as well as from community to community. In some cases a person may be inspired by reading an article that triggers the solution to a problem he has been struggling with. In another community a Partner may feel inspired that the expertise she shared has assisted another person in the community. We have incorporated a wide variety of features in Primolicious with the hope that each of our visitors will be inspired often.

We believe many individuals will be inspired by the chance to give advice, information, companionship and encouragement to other members of the community. On Primolicious, the Partners desiring to give can:

• Create original content that may positively impact and enlighten other visitors
• Encourage beneficial discussions by posting compelling questions and topics
• Respond to discussion posts sharing their experiences, ingenuity, advice and expertise
• Bring in Primo content from other sites

Others may be inspired by the opportunity to receive assistance, information, advice, and encouragement from others in the community. The Partners wanting to receive can:

• Access the wealth of information available on the site
• Participate in discussions with others who may have more knowledge, experience and expertise in a specific area
• Read and communicate directly with the writers of original content
• Write their own stories documenting their successes and challenges
• Receive messages from others on the site with their suggestions, advice and encouragement

For the Community

Every Primolicious community is developed for folks that are passionate about a specific area of common interest. Examples may include business, hobbies, leisure and recreational pursuits.

In addition to the specific Primolicious Communities there are often other smaller groups formed within the community focused on categories of common interest. For example, in the Disability Community there might be Partners who share an interest in quad rugby or winter sports. And in the Web Development Community there might be Partners focused on Rails programming.

With the assistance of our Partners, we continue to improve each Primolicious Community with the resolve to serve the members of that specific community better than any other site on the Internet.

By the Community

Primolicious is founded on our belief that a community's best source of information, knowledge, and insight are the members of that community. Primolicious uses two methods to tap the resources the community has to offer. The aggregator brings in news, blogs and articles, most written by members of the community. Moreover, Primolicious is designed to encourage and facilitate the addition of both linked and original content from members of the community. We have intentionally called the individuals who join Primolicious "Partners" to reflect their critical role in the success of our communities.

We understand that the participation of our Partners will vary greatly. The majority will be delighted just visiting the site, catching up on the news in their areas of interest, and occasionally voting for an article or making a comment. On the other end of the spectrum are the Partners who take ownership of a portion of the site. For example, a Partner who is passionate about handcycling may help grow that portion of the site dedicated to this craze, making it the place to visit on the web if you're a handcyclist. The Partner can accomplish this by linking in and writing compelling content, promoting interesting discussions, and inviting other enthusiasts to join him or her at Primolicious.
